The song “Don’t Save It All for Christmas Day,” which was first heard on the Canadian singer Celine Dion’s 1998 English-language holiday album These Are Special Times, was written by Dion, Peter Zizzo, and Ric Wake. Two years after the album’s first release, on December 4, 2000, Wake produced the song, which was then released as a promotional single.
The Christian group Avalon is among the many artists who have covered this pop ballad over the years; they re-recorded it for their 2000 CD Joy: A Christmas Collection. The song is also strongly linked to Clay Aiken, who recorded it for his 2004 album Merry Christmas with Love and went on to make it his signature Christmas anthem.
