Sidney Kimble West and Sam West: A Father-Daughter Dance to Remember

Performing with loved ones can be a dream come true, strengthening family bonds through shared passions. This was the case for Sidney Kimble West and her father, Sam West, when they took the stage at the 2020 National SHAG Dance Championships. Sam West, a hidden legend in the dance world, joined his daughter for a captivating performance of Ben E. King’s “Stand By Me.”

As the music started, the pair’s initial serious expressions transformed into joy as their feet moved in perfect harmony, gliding across the floor to the rhythm of the classic song. Their performance was not only a display of their individual talents but also a celebration of their family’s love for dance.

Sam West’s journey into dance began at the age of nine, inspired by his mother. He quickly developed a passion for it, winning two junior national titles with his dance partner Terri Alberty during his school years.
