The American singer paid tribute to Avicii at The Avicii Tribute Concert by giving a joyous rendition of their hit song “Lay Me Down,” which she co-wrote with the hip-hop artist. At the concert, Lambert wowed Avicii’s audience with her electrifying stage presence while wearing a stunning pink suit. Fans adored celebrating Avicii’s work with the gifted performer, who was obviously having a blast singing the disco number again.

Although there are some incredibly high vocal runs in “Lay Me Down,” Lambert was undoubtedly on top of it, effortlessly gliding through the lyrics like they were nothing. It’s amazing how effortlessly he can convey a smooth, lithe tone while also pulling off such a challenging vocal role. At Stockholm, Sweden’s Friends Arena, he undoubtedly exuded star power, and the 55,000 sold-out audience responded with an incredible amount of excitement.

One of the most watched videos from the Avicii Tribute Concert is Lambert’s live rendition of “Lay Me Down,” which has received 3.3 million views on YouTube. “Adam’s one of the few singers that sounds better live than on a recording, that’s talent right there,” were among the many remarks made by fans who praised the performance. “What a performance! The version of “Wake Me Up” by Aloe Blacc became viral on YouTube following the event.

“Lay Me Down” was co-written by Avicii, Lambert, Arash Pournouri, and Nile Rodgers. The song was produced by Pournouri and Avicii, however the composition is credited to all four musicians. The song was enhanced by Chic guitar legend Rodgers’ trademark funky electric guitar, which always elevates a tune to a new level.

Released on April 21, 2014, “Lay Me Down” became a smash, peaking at number 10 in multiple European markets and earning a gold certification in Sweden.
